Toyota South Africa has just announced the launch of the Quest, a vehicle the company describes as a no-nonsense, sensible, spacious and affordable family car.
The Quest is based on the previous Corolla and comes fitted with a 1,6-litre dual VVT unit that delivers 90 kW at 6 000 r/min and 154 N.m at 5 200 r/min. It’s mated with a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
The Quest has various features that set it apart from its donor car. This includes freshly designed headlights, re-designed taillights, a black radiator grille and side indicator lights in the fenders instead of on the mirrors.
There are two trim levels of which the Plus is the flagship. This model comes fitted with alloy wheels (steel on the entry-level), body-coloured door handles and an audio system with USB and auxiliary inputs. All Quests come fitted with an immobiliser and alarm, remote central locking, dual front airbags, Isofix anchor points, ABS brakes, air-conditioning and rake/reach adjustment for the steering wheel.
