Jarno Trulli is considering leaving Jordan at the end of the season and admitted he is talking to other teams.
Trulli is almost at the end of his contract with the team. “Although it’s a good idea to stay here, you have to take a look at what’s happening around you. I know what I can achieve with this team, but I have to consider other opportunities.
“I am talking to several people and I will make my decision within the next few weeks. I’m just really relaxed because I know I’m doing a good job and I can be strong wherever I go.
“Then again maybe Eddie (Jordan) will want to change both drivers. You never know. I’ve learnt anything can happen in Formula One from one day to the next.”
Trulli said he was shocked by his team-mate Heinz-Harald Frentzen’s sacking earlier this week.
“I knew nothing about it. I know it’s not nice to come here and not be working alongside your usual team-mate.
“To be honest the atmosphere in the team is not as bad as people probably think,” he said.
“I certainly didn’t detect anything wrong before Heinz’s departure.”
He admitted his preparations for this weekend’s German Grand Prix at Hockenheim had been hampered by Frentzen’s sacking.
“It is not good for anyone to lose him in the middle of the championship and especially before his home Grand Prix. The team has a big German sponsor and now we have a new driver at this race, it will be hard.”
Trulli said he had not spoken to Frentzen yet, but it was a deliberate decision. “I know it is a hard situation for him at the moment. I don’t want to ask him what happened now, because I know now that he will want to sort the situation out with the team. I think this is something really big and I don’t really want to get involved. But it must have been something big to cause it,” he said.
