British specialist sportscar builder TVR has launched the Sagaris, a road-legal race car based on the T350, at Earl’s Court in London and we have pictures of this mean monster…
CARtoday.com reported last year that the T350C features unique rear styling – a rounded rump with Maserati-style boomerang lights and a “swiss cheese” diffuser. These features, as well as the side-hinged boot door, will be carried over to the Sagaris.
At the front, aggressive-looking scoops (festooned with fang-like vertical fins) have been added. A low spoiler will also be added to optimise the TVR’s aerodynamics for circuit.
In order to increase the Sagaris’ stability while cornering, it will have a wider track than the T350. TVR designers shed weight by extensive use of carbon fibre in the cabin.
Under the bonnet, the Sagaris is fitted with the mighty TVR Straight Six engine used in the Tucsan S. Producing 300 kW, it is claimed that this car can dash from standing to 100 km/h in 3,6 seconds and 160 km/h in under nine seconds.
Top speed is in excess of 270km/h. No ABS brakes, traction control or any other electronic aids have been included.
