There have been rumours and talk of a new Toyota Hilux to arrive within the next two years, but it’s only recently that a test mule has been spied.
From what we can see between all the cladding, the new Hilux looks set to get a redesigned and smaller grille, a new face with narrow LED headlamps and a sculpted bonnet. At the back, it looks neat and straightforward with stacked taillamps and no distinguishable design traits.
There are no further details currently available on the new Hilux, but we have no doubt that it will come in single- and double-cab body shapes and will be powered by a variety of petrol and diesel units. As is the case with the current model, it will be in 2WD or AWD.
The new Hilux is expected to make its official debut sometime in 2016, and seeing as it remains one of the top-selling vehicles in South Africa, there is no doubt that it will reach our shores soon after.
