Mercedes-Benz has released details of updates to one of its E-Class models. The most important upgrade is that of Mercedes-Benz’s new 9G-Tronic transmission which will become standard equipment on the E350 BlueTEC. The result of the new transmission is a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions which is now down by 17 g/km, resulting in a claimed output of 139 g/km for the sedan. Power is also up from the current 185 kW to 192 kW.
A spokesperson for Mercedes-Benz South Africa confirmed to us that this updated model will arrive in October. Expect this new 9-speed transmission to filter to other models as well in the coming months. This transmission will also be standard equipment on the upcoming S500 Coupé.
