In response to its customers’ demands, Aston Martin has increased the maximum output of its fabled V12 Vanquish from about 340 kW to a blistering 388 kW. Watch out for it in Paris…
Labelled the “Vanquish S”, this supercar produces 388 kW of power to complement its 575 N.m of torque. Expect it to be capable of clocking speeds in excess of 320 km/h while the zero-to-100km/h sprint should be covered in about four seconds.
The suspension, steering and brakes have been revised on the Vanquish S. Larger brakes with six-piston callipers, a larger-diameter clutch and a shortened final-drive ratio are included on the list of improvements.
In March, when speaking about the Vanquish S, CARtoday.com reported Aston Martin head Uli Bez as saying, “it’s no good doing something like a three per cent hike, it has to be a more substantial increase.”
To add to the increased performance, the 48-valve, 5,9-litre V12 engine now comes with new cylinder head castings, machined inlet ports and fuel injectors, reported. The differential has also a revised.
Minor adjustments have been made to the exterior styling, including a revised airdam, a grille with fewer slats, new alloy wheels and “Vanquish S” badging at the rear. On the inside, the leather-trimmed dashboard now more closely resembles that of the DB-9 and features a new glass starter button.
