The Volkswagen CC is not a common sight on our roads, but internationally over 270 000 examples have found homes. Now, only two and half years after its local launch, Volkswagen has given its swoopily-styled saloon a facelift.
Up front, new highlights include a revised radiator grille, bi-xenon headlamps and a re-profiled bonnet. Lower down, the bumper has also see a number of changes; it now features an extra air intake and fog lamps that are now partly framed with silver-coloured surrounds.
Moving to the flanks, Volkswagen has also re-sculpted the sills to give the car a more purposeful profile, while at the rear the bumper has been redesigned, as has its chrome capping strip. The taillamps – as is the case with the front light cluster – now incorporates LEDs. This all contributes to a more modern and up to date look for the CC.
The CC will make its international debut at this month’s Los Angeles Auto Show, followed by a local introduction during the second quarter of 2012. A spokesperson for Volkswagen South Africa confirmed that the local engine line-up will remain unchanged.
