Volvo South Africa now offers a five-year/100 000km maintenance plan as standard on the full range of its vehicles.
”With the increasing costs of car maintenance, owners of compact and medium luxury cars prefer to purchase vehicles with maintenance plans as standard to prevent unnecessary surprises when taking their cars for a service,” Volvo Car SA announced in a statement this week.
Volvo products sold before February 1 are covered by a three-year/60 000 km warranty and owners of such cars will be able to consult their respective dealers and extend their maintenance plans to five-year/100 000 km contracts, Volvo Car SA spokesman Nicole Heys told CARtoday.com on Friday.
The Volvo plan covers the full maintenance and services of the vehicle for the entire five year/100 000km period on normal wear and tear items only, provided they are carried out by any of the 26 authorised Volvo dealerships around the country.
Also included in the maintenance plan is a three-year roadside assistance programme with 24-hour coverage operated by the AA.
Service intervals on all petrol derivatives throughout the Volvo range are 20 000 km, and 10 000 km on the Volvo S60 D5, recently launched in South Africa.
