The 2023 VW Amarok is less than a week away from its global debut and the German automaker has put together a teaser campaign showing some of the finer details to start generating some hype in anticipation of its pending arrival.
With its global launch happening on the 7th of July, we are tantalisingly close to the launch of the next generation bakkie to wear a Volkswagen badge. As such, the teaser campaign for the 2023 VW Amarok continues, this time focusing on some of the more intricate details for the body-on-frame Ranger based model.
What we can see from the video shared on the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles official Twitter page and other provided images, the new bakkie will boast some beefy wheel arches which is the focal point of the embedded video below. Other details include Matrix LED headlights and alloys which now boast six lug nuts as opposed to the previous five. The exterior bodywork will also include some decals which run along the lower portion of the doors while a previous rear fascia tease proudly shows a V6 badge on the left with the 4Motion symbol on the opposing side, other powertrains to fill the lineup are expected too.
The interior is set to receive the familiar-to-the-Ford portrait-oriented touchscreen with 12-inch diagonal Ford SYNC4 operating system. A few tactile buttons will be positioned beneath, most functionality will likely be built into the screen though.
We know that the 2023 VW Amarok will share a production line alongside its Ford counterpart in Ford’s Silverton plant in Pretoria while assembly will also continue in Pacheco in Argentina. More information on specification and trim levels will likely be provided when the bakkie finally launches on the 7th of July. We can expect to see the new model on showroom floors by early 2023 if all goes swimmingly.
Our new #Amarok shows its sporty elegance: The side contours of its completely redesigned body shape particularly emphasize the athletic figure of the premium pickup. Here is also a first taste of the typical oval wheel arches.#VWCV #WeTransportSuccessFreedomFuture pic.twitter.com/Jb4YgFjWjY
