If you are itching to watch some live high paced track action this Easter weekend, you may be out of luck. Fortunately the Stuttgart manufacturer has been spied testing two of their 911 models at the Nürburgring. Watch below as Porsche dominates Green Hell with the 911 GT3 RS and 911 Hybrid.
The first spy video features the 2023 Porsche 911 Hybrid which is seen lapping the famed course at full attack. It is seen sharing the track with camouflaged BMW models and other updated creations from the Porsche stables.
Despite its electrified assistance, the 911 Hybrid looks like a highly potent track weapon that should be able to whisk buyers away from its conventional ICE counterpart. The automaker does indicate that technology from the potent 919 Hybrid race car has been adapted for use in this.
Exact details on the combustion engine are still unknown at the moment but it likely employs the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six as the Carrera on which it shares almost identical exterior aesthetics with. The 911 Hybrid will arrive with the update of the 992 generation and it is expected to arrive in the second half of this year.
If you are here to listen to naturally aspirated flat-six goodness then do not despair, since some bonkers 911 GT3 RS prototypes were also spied strutting their stuff at the Nürburgring.
Powered by the incredible naturally aspirated and 9,500 rpm capable 4.0-litre unit, the track focused model should reportedly push out as much as 390 kW from the mill and in addition to the aerodynamic upgrades over its standard GT3 counterpart, we can see how fast it actually is in its testing video.
Most notably, the GT3 RS comes with a much higher and bigger rear wing, then there are aerodynamic improvements employed throughout the car. Chiefly on the bonnet while a revised front fender has air cutouts above and behind the front wheel arch.
The GT3 RS should be revealed to the world very soon although the Stuttgart manufacturer hasn’t given any indication of when. Either way, it is always pleasant when Porsche dominates Green Hell. With the GT3 having debuted over a year ago, we expect Porsche to reveal the GT3 RS anytime now.
