2020 World Car of the Year: full list of candidates announced…

By: CAR magazine

The candidates for the 2020 World Car Awards have been announced, with 31 vehicles featuring on the “provisional list of eligible vehicles” for the overall prize.

Of course, in April 2019, the Jaguar I-Pace grabbed the World Car of the Year title, along with two other gongs. And now it’s time to start the process of finding 2020’s winner.

First, a group of more than 80 international jurors will have the chance to test-drive any eligible vehicles that may not be available in their home markets in November. Then, late in January 2020, the jurors will vote for their favourites, with finalists in each of the five categories set to be announced in early February, followed by the top three at the Geneva International Motor Show in early March.

The winners will be officially declared in all five categories at an awards ceremony and press conference that will open the New York International Auto Show on April.
