The organisers of the 2021 World Car Awards have announced the top three finalists in each of the competition’s five categories.
At the start of March 2021, the jury of 93 “distinguished” international automotive journalists selected ten finalists in the overall World Car category and five in each of the various sub-categories. Now these lists have been further whittled down to three apiece.
As a reminder, winners will be declared on 20 April 20 2021.
So, let’s get to the top three. The Honda e, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen ID.4 will fight it out for the overall World Car of the Year title.
The World Urban Car award, meanwhile, will be contested by the Honda e, Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris. The Land Rover Defender, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Polestar 2 are in the running for the World Luxury Car gong.
The World Performance Car will be one of the Audi RS Q8, Porsche 911 Turbo and Toyota GR Yaris, while the Honda e, Land Rover Defender and Mazda MX-30 will do battle for the World Car Design of the Year title.
