2,1-sec sprint time? Hennessey previews 746 kW kit for McLaren 765LT!

By: Nikesh Kooverjee

The McLaren 765LT is a speed demon in standard form but Hennessey Performance has massive (read 746 kW!) plans for the British supercar.

The American tuning firm says its upcoming performance upgrade will allow the 765LT to complete the 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) sprint in a mere 2,1 seconds.

Without any modifications, the 765LT’s twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 delivers 563 kW and 800 N.m of torque. To hike the maximum power figure to 746 kW (a torque figure has not yet been stated), Hennessey plans to fit the mid-mounted mill with high-flow air filters and an in-house-developed stainless-steel downpipe, before recalibrating the ECU.

Further inclusions to the $24 950 (approximately R382 000) package are exterior “Hennessey” and “HPE1000” badges plus a serial numbered dash and engine plaque.
