The next-generation Discovery Sport is making waves with its new tech features, seamlessly blending efficiency and capability. Now, the automaker has introduced a range of electrified powertrains, combined with advanced all-terrain chassis systems.

At the forefront is the P300e plug-in electric hybrid, boasting a 1,5-litre 147 kW turbocharged three-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine and an 80 kW electric motor. This duo delivers a combined power output of 227 kW and 540 N.m of torque, offering an electric range of up to 61 km or an expected real-world range of up to 47 km.
With over 90% of daily journeys achievable in electric-only mode, the P300e provides both efficiency and versatility, with a total real-world range of up to 634 km and low CO2 emissions starting at 33 g/km. The 14,9 kWh battery supports rapid DC charging, providing an 80% charge in just 30 minutes at a 50 kW DC public charger.
Efficiency is further enhanced with three driving modes: HYBRID, EV and SAVE. These modes adapt to different driving conditions, optimizing power usage and efficiency. The P300e also features a Belt-integrated Starter Generator (BiSG) for enhanced regenerative braking and smoother start-stop operation.

Owners can stay connected with the InControl Remote App, allowing them to monitor the vehicle’s status, prepare it for a journey, and set charging timers for off-peak energy rates. Pre-conditioning the battery and cabin temperature before a trip maximizes range and passenger comfort.
For those seeking dynamic performance, the Discovery Sport offers the D200 diesel engine, which has a 2,0-litre four-cylinder powerplant that produces 147 kW of power and 430 N.m of torque. It is claimed to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8,9 seconds and fuel consumption is set at 6,7 L/100 km. All powertrains come with a nine-speed automatic transmission and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
In terms of all-terrain capability, the Discovery Sport is equipped with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, Terrain Progress Control, and Terrain Response 2. These systems ensure confidence and control in various driving conditions, whether on or off the road. Intelligent All-Wheel Drive optimizes traction on slippery surfaces, while All Terrain Progress Control and Hill Descent Control simplify challenging off-road situations. The Terrain Response 2 feature offers multiple driving modes for different terrains or an automatic mode for seamless adaptability.
No local pricing on the newcomer has been mentioned however the base Land Rover Discovery Sport D200 Dynamic SE starts at R1 305 400 with the range-topping Discovery Sport P300e Dynamic HSE coming in at R1 798 200.
