With its IS250 Limited Edition, Lexus hopes to woo the more discerning buyer with a range of features over and above those already offered on the standard model.
Among the exterior extras are 18-inch alloy wheels, high intensity discharge headlamps with washers and automatic levelling, LED daytime running lights, rain sensing windscreen wipers, as well as heated electric mirrors with memory function, automatic dimming. Just three exterior colours – White Pearl, Lapis Lazuli and Starlight Black – will be offered.
Among the interior features are electrically-adjustable front seats, with heating and cooling functions, finished in semi-aniline Saddle Tan leather. The leather finish is continued throughout the cabin, and is contrasted by and dark brown Birds Eye Maple wood trim. The sound system receives an upgrade from the standard car’s 8-speaker/6-CD premium set-up to a 12-speaker Mark Levinson digital surround sound system with 5,1 channel playback and 6-DVD changer.
This system is complemented by a hard disk navigation system with a 7-inch colour touch-screen interface, which also plays host to 40 GB of data storage, Bluetooth connectivity and USB line-in. Like the standard car, the ventilation system automatically configures its airflow characteristics to suit top-up or top-down driving conditions.
Powered is still provided by a 2,5-litre V6 driving mated with a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. This unit develops 153 kW at 6 400 r/min and 252 N.m of torque at 4 800 r/min. Lexus claims a top speed of 210 km/h and a combined cycle fuel economy figure of 9,3 l/100km.
Like all models in the IS range, the IS250 C is backed by a four years/100 000 km full maintenance plan and a four years/100 000 km manufacturer’s warranty.
