In 1909, a certain Mr Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan, HFS for short, built the 3 Wheeler as vehicle to transport himself around the hills of Malvern in the United Kingdom. It proved exceptionally popular and so the Morgan Motor Company was founded.
Fast forward 102 years to 2011 and the current generation Morgan 3 Wheeler was launched, a vehicle which has proven hugely successful in its ten-year production run. As the final 33 P101 cars roll off the line, Morgan has now confirmed that a new 3 Wheeler is in the works.
Very few details have been released, however it has been noted that it will feature significant engineering advancements and be defined be an all-new design which draws inspiration from the many owners of the outgoing model that have embraced adventure travel and touring in their three-wheeled Morgans.
It has also been confirmed that an internal combustion engine is to be used and sourced from Ford, continuing the company’s long-standing use of Ford powerplants. The motor will be a naturally aspirated in-line three-cylinder unit.

The upcoming model is an all-new ground-up design and the first whole vehicle programme to be completed under the stewardship of Investindustrial. Morgan’s team of engineers and designers have considered everything that the company has learnt from the decade of building and selling the previous model.
