Renault’s popular SUV city-runabout returns to the fold in a redesigned model refining the Captur’s longstanding user-friendly and palatable driving experience. Here’s all you need to know about the 2023 Renault Captur.

The Renault Captur has been sold in over 90 countries since its inception in 2013 and this redesign follows the Captur’s Phase 2 design which debuted in 2017. The new iteration now debuts a new exterior and interior design, improved safety features and a slew of technological driver aids.

The new Captur physique is noticeably sportier than its predecessor, which is by way of the prominent curves evident on its flank complemented by the car’s athletic proportions. Skid plates are equipped on the front and rear aiding its unique styling coupled with the protective mould stretching from the front to rear, covering the wheel arches and lower portion of the car’s side. Punctuating the exterior are the 17-inch wheels and two-tone colour scheme.
Customers can specify the sultry SUV in a range of colours namely; Ivory White; Marine Blue; Mercury Silver; Oyster Grey; Passion Red, and Ocean Blue.
The interior is home to a floating centre console, which serves as one of the many features introduced that are a part of the Captur’s Smart Cockpit. The interior features a curved portrait-style 9,3-inch multimedia screen, fabric seats, and a slew of quality materials constituting the dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel. In line with the utility aspect of Renault’s SUV offering, the boot space is measured at 404 litres which can be expanded on when rear seats are folded flat affording occupants 1 275 litres of cargo space.
At the heart of the new Captur is a “Formula 1 inspired” 1,3-litre four-cylinder endowing the sporty SUV with 113 kW coupled with 270 N.m. The Captur offers a claimed fuel economy figure of 6,6L/100km. The Captur’s powerplant is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission that utilizes the firm’s Efficiency Dual Clutch (EDC) technology.

The latest model in Renault’s lineup is offered with a 5-year/150 000km mechanical warranty, a 3-year/45 000km service plan and a 6-year anti-corrosion warranty.
