British specialist sports car manufacturer TVR has revealed the radical T350C, the latest addition to its line-up of lightning quick road cars.
Based on their smallest car, the Tamora, the T350C features unique styling traits – especially at the rear, where the rounded rump features Maserati-style boomerang lights and a “swiss cheese” diffuser. The boot door is side-hinged, just like the classic Jaguar E-type coupe’s.
At the front the styling is typically TVR – vertically stacked headlights on a shark-like nose.
TVR claims a 280 km/h top speed and four second 0-100 km/h time for the 1 040 kg T350C. Power comes from the same 3,6-litre straight-six that does duty in the Tamora. Developed in-house by TVR, the AJP engine produces 261 kW and 393 N.m of torque.
And the price? Just over R600 000 should be about right.
With the launch of the T350C comes the news that from next year, TVR will sell its 315 km/h Tuscan S with speed camera detectors as standard equipment. British magazine reports that the system uses GPS technology and a database of camera locations to alert drivers. TVR says the system complies with all legal requirements.
TVR is distributed in South Africa by Heritage Cars.
