The ABT RS3-R has also been given some butch exterior upgrades to match the work that has been done under the bonnet which rightfully gives the hatchback the ability to give some supercars a run for their money, in typical RS3 fashion.
The theme to this project may have been somewhat Hulk related since this in essence is as much of a green monster as the Marvel comic. The upgrades that have been implemented to the Sportback means that the ABT RS3-R is able to hit 100 km/h from standstill in only 3,3 seconds – a number that is knocking on the door of supercar territory.

ABT have connected the venerable 2,5-litre five-pot to a new intercooler, ABT engine control unit and an upgraded exhaust system which livens the baby-V10 to its full aural ability. In doing so, the ABT RS3-R now churns out 368 kW and 600 N.m. The tuner also offers increasing the speed limiter to 300 km/h, little Hulk remember?
It also gets a raft of other upgrades which include stabiliser bars and lowering springs which can drop the body of the car by 38 mm on each corner and expectedly give it improved road manners for when the path ahead gets a little bit twisty. The 20-inch ABT wheels are covered with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport R tires and conceal standard brakes behind.
The ABT RS3-R has also been given some exterior treatment in the form of carbon fibre components which include the front lip spoiler, corner winglets, side mirror caps and rear roof spoiler. In addition, cosmetic ABT logos line both interior and exterior of the limited 200 run unit. No cost for the modified hatchback has been provided but we can expect the stock version to land in South Africa in the coming months.
