Now that Alfa Romeo officially has its own Formula 1 team (in partnership with Sauber), the Italian brand has decided to dress up its current Quadrifoglio Verde line-up to fit the bill. And you’re looking at the result: the Giulia QV and Stelvio QV Racing Edition models.
The two cars wear the white-and-red colour scheme seen on the current C38 F1 car. Although this design is F1-inspired, the cars themselves retain their twin-turbo 2,9-litre V6 engines, but their soundtracks will be delivered by an Akrapovič titanium exhaust system. Alfa says the engine has been “specifically tuned” to “increase power output”, but an official number hasn’t been stated.
Items such as carbon-ceramic brake discs help to cut weight, with carbon-fibre also used on the side-mirror caps, the “V” insert in the front trefoil, the side skirt inserts and the kick plates (the latter on the Giulia).
Both Racing Edition models also come with tinted windows, adaptive cruise control, a Harman Kardon premium audio package. In the cabin, the two QV models are fitted with Sparco racing seats with red stitching and a carbon-shell structure complemented by a Mopar gear selector knob. Celebratory Alfa Romeo Racing badges are included inside as well.
