Audi speedster filmed clocking 308 km/h on the N1 in Johannesburg

In-car footage of an Audi driver clocking 308 km/h on what appears to be the N1 in Johannesburg has emerged online.

The 25-second clip, which Yusuf Abramjee posted on Twitter (it apparently originated on Instagram), shows the vehicle’s digital instrument cluster as the speed rises.

Judging by the logo just above the central speed readout, the vehicle in question is an Audi TTS … although clearly one that has been tuned and had its limiter lifted, seeing as the standard model tops is electronically restricted to 250 km/h.

Captured at night, the video shows the vehicle accelerating from 243 km/h to 308 km/h, apparently on the N1 south near Midrand.
