The tS was a hot version of the Subaru Forester that was launched for the Japanese market and was limited to just 300 units. Now it’s the Australians’ turn as the Forester tS STI heads to their market this June.
Sadly for them, however the tS STI will not make use of the more powerful 206 kW and 350 N.m turbocharged 2,0-litre engine but rather the standard 177 kW 2,0-litre powerplant delivered to all four wheels through a CVT.
Subaru Australia has said that despite the smaller power output its customers still seem excited about the new model thanks to the addition of a black front grille, Brembo brakes, 19-inch Enkei wheels as well as STI-tuned parts including modified dampers and coil springs, lowering the crossover by 15 mm.
The Forester tS STI will be available in a Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica or WR Blue paintwork with a black interior with red detailing.
Australians are expected to pay AUS$54 990 (R623 000) for the limited edition crossover.
