The driver of a black BMW 120i has been arrested after being caught speeding at 191 km/h on the N1 in Limpopo.
According to spokesperson for the Limpopo department of transport, Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala, the 36-year-old was nabbed near the Mookgophong off-ramp, travelling at some 71 km/h over the national speed limit.
Moremi-Taueatsoala told the Bosveld Review that the speedster was promptly arrested and detained at the Mookgophong police station. He was later granted bail of R2 000.
For the record, the current-generation 120i employs a turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine sending 135 kW and 270 N.m to the rear wheels. Maximum speed is a claimed 225 km/h.
