BMW M boss Markus Flasch has posted an image of a G82-generation M4 in Frozen Black on Instagram, leading to speculation the special vehicle is his personal car.
Alongside a caption reading “new kid on the block” (complete with hashtags #FrozenBlack, #BMWIndividual and #savethemanuals), the image shows the black coupé parked in front of an “M Town” sign. Judging by that third hashtag, it’s a standard M4 (as opposed to the Competition model), with a twin-turbo 3,0-litre inline six-cylinder engine sending 353 kW and 550 N.m to the rear axle via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Look closely and you’ll notice the cheeky bumper sticker – sited just above the carbon-fibre rear diffuser – reading “drift happens”. The Frozen Black hue, of course, has already been used on the G82-gen coupé, in the form of the special-edition “BMW M4 Competition x Kith”.
The folks over at BMWBlog have published a few more images of the car in question, so head over there if you’d like to see the Frozen Black M4 from a couple of slightly different angles.
As a reminder, the new M3 and M4 are scheduled to arrive in South Africa later in the first quarter of 2021, exclusively in Competition form (that means no manual gearboxes for us)...
