BMW says cheeky goodbye to Mercedes-Benz boss Zetsche…

By: CAR magazine

Dieter Zetsche has officially signed off as Daimler CEO and Mercedes-Benz boss, retiring from the German group after 13 years at the helm (handing over to Ola Källenius). And rival automaker BMW wasted no time in saying goodbye to the 66-year-old with a cheeky video.

Posted to BMW’s official YouTube channel, the 53-second clip shows a Zetsche lookalike leaving the firm after his final day, to the applause of numerous employees.

His chauffer drops him off at home one last time (in an S-Class, naturally), leaving Zetsche standing alone on his driveway. Moments thereafter, the garage door opens and out he drives in … a BMW i8 Roadster.

The clip ends with the following message from BMW: “Thank you, Dieter Zetsche, for so many years of inspiring competition”.
