Mercedes’ GT 63 S E Performance is the latest subject of Brabus’ power-crazed endeavours, resulting in the first model in the tuner’s history to feature a four-digit power output dubbed the Brabus Rocket 1000.

The idea of increasing the power output of a car seems inessential when that car is already endowed with an output of 470 kW and 900 N.m on ICE grunt alone. With the help of its hybrid system, the AMG GT 63 S is capable of an output of 620 kW/ 1470 N.m, allowing it to violently rocket from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. Nonetheless, Brabus has set its sights on emboldening the performance capabilities and visual appeal of Mercedes’ brutish four-door coupé.
The Brabus Rocket 1000 wears its power potential on its sleeve or, rather, its entire carbon fibre-laden body. Specially developed carbon fibre front fenders and side panels at the rear culminate in a domineering widebody concept that is 6.7 centimetres wider than the standard model, which is 206.9 cm wide to begin with. Enhancements on the front half of the Rocket 1000 range from a carbon front apron, an integrated carbon front splitter, raised canards, integrated carbon aero-blades on the front apron, and two carbon ram air intakes. The rear features carbon elements, such as the multi-piece rear wing and Brabus carbon diffuser.

Below the muscular carbon-fibre-laden physique is a significantly uprated V8. In its standard configuration, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance is motivated by a sonorous 4.0-litre turbocharged V8. The Rocket 1000 relies on the same V8 powerplant, although its displacement has increased to 4.5 litres. Compared to the standard, undisturbed V8, the 4.5-litre variant produces 115 kW/ 350 N.m more. Contributing to the power increase are upgraded pistons, an upgraded crankshaft, milled connecting rods, two Brabus turbochargers, a 75 mm downpipe and a PowerExtra ECU. The V8’s grunts and bellows are retorted through a Brabus stainless steel exhaust punctuated by the four-exit carbon-titanium exhaust pipes.
The brawnier eight-cylinder beating heart, in tandem with the electric driver technology, is capable of generating 735 kW and, for the sake of the transmission components, is limited to 1 620 N.m. 0 km/h to 100 km/h is achieved in 2.6 seconds. Large ContiSport Contact 7 tyres transfer egregious amounts of power to the floor and are accentuated by the Brabus monoblock Platinum Edition 21-inch and 22-inch wheels with carbon aero discs.

Black leather adorns a considerable portion of the interior, along with several Brabus logos and patterns.
The Rocket 1000 is limited to just 25 examples and is touted as the most powerful model ever created by the tuner company in its four-decade-long history. Is this a tasteful enhancement of an already potent sports car, or has Brbaus successfully pushed the AMG GT63 S E Performance to its limits?
