Ahead of the release of the 25th instalment of the 007 franchise, The Little Car Company has released a James Bond-inspired special edition of the Aston Martin DB5 Junior.
Dubbed the No Time to Die Edition, the two-thirds size model of the original Aston Martin DB5 will feature all the gadgets you’d expect from a Bond edition DB5, including a cycling digital numberplate, a smoke screen emitted from the tailpipe, two simulated Gatling guns behind the headlights and a skid mode. Powered by a fully electric powertrain, the miniature car is capable of a 130-odd km range and features regenerative braking, Brembo disc brakes and Bilstein dampers and coilover springs.
Featuring Aston Martin’s classic Silver Birch paintwork, Smiths instruments and badging, the DB5 Junior has been designed to accommodate an adult and child side by side.
Ben Hedley, CEO of The Little Car Company said, “Regarded as the most famous car in cinematic history, the gadget-laden Aston Martin DB5 awed audiences around the world over 50 years ago. Now that story continues.”
“We’ve had the opportunity to create something truly unique for James Bond fans and collectors. We can’t wait to see the adventures these cars take with their owners.”
While the model isn’t road-legal, owners do receive an automatic membership to the Aston Martin Owners Club which means that the DB5 Junior is welcome at AML events and race tracks. Pricing is around £90 000 (R 1 815 000) with production limited to just 125 No Time To Die Edition cars.
The DB5 earned its fame after its debut in 1964’s Goldfinger, subsequently appearing in 1965’s Thunderball, 1995’s Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997, Casino Royale in 2006, Skyfall in 2012 and 2015’s Spectre. No Time To Die is set to be released imminently and will see the return of the legendary Aston Martin DB5.
