While the Land Rover Defender V8 has only just landed on local shores, JLR have left ‘No Time To Die’ in announcing a special edition of the critically acclaimed off-roader. Dubbed the Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition, SV Bespoke have created this vehicle in celebration of the Defender’s role in the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die, which premieres globally in cinemas from 30th September 2021.
Based on the new 386 kW Defender, the special edition model is available in both 90 and 110 styles. Inspired by the specification of the Defenders which appear in the film, items to remind you of the fact that this is a special car include the Extended Black Pack with 22-inch Gloss Black wheels, Xenon Blue front brake callipers, a ‘Defender 007’ rear badge, ‘007’ puddle lamp, illuminated ‘007’ treadplates and an exclusive animation on the new 11,4” Pivi Pro touchscreen.
“The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition is an exclusive take on the most powerful production Defender ever made, inspired by vehicles on screen in No Time To Die. It represents a meeting of two great British brands and is a unique celebration of Land Rover’s 38-year association with James Bond,” said Finbar McFall, Land Rover Brand Director.
Defenders star alongside two Range Rover Sport SVR’s in Daniel Craig’s fifth and final film as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007. As with the standard Defender V8, the Bond Edition features JLR’s venerable 5,0-litre supercharged V8 offering a stonking 386 kW and 625 N.m in this application, all driven through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Both the suspension and transmission have been tuned specifically for the Defender V8 which promises to be “the fastest and most dynamically rewarding Defender yet.”
Each Defender V8 Bond Edition wears the SV Bespoke logo along with an exclusive ‘One of 300’ etching, with just five Defender V8 Bond Editions having been allocated to South Africa.
