The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department says it has arrested a doctor nabbed speeding at 178 km/h in a Mercedes-AMG on the N12 in Gauteng.
According to IOL, the metro police members chased down the speeding doctor, who had earlier ignored their orders to pull over.
The 32-year-old woman, who appears to have been driving a black Mercedes-AMG CLA35 sedan, allegedly hit 178 km/h in a 120 km/h zone near the Reading interchange.
According to the report, EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said the woman was eventually cornered just before the Comaro Road off-ramp.
“The furious lady offender stopped her Mercedes-Benz in the middle of the freeway,” Mokheseng said.
The doctor claimed she was late for work but was promptly arrested. She is facing charges of reckless and negligent driving.
