Abdo ‘Dado’ Feghali is a multiple Lebanese rally champion and Red Bull Car Park Drift kingpin, and in 2013 he drifted 11 180 metres, breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous drift.
Following a series of teaser videos, Red Bull has finally released a spectacular short film that stars Feghali, drifting through the streets of Durban with iconic landmarks forming the backdrop. Dubbed “Never Stop Playing,” the premise of the story follows a child racing a radio-controlled car through the streets of Minitown, a popular beachfront tourist attraction depicting a scale model of Durban. Its correlative is Feghali in his Nissan 350Z drift car, drifting through the actual city. We tagged along, and our full report can be found in the July 2021 issue of CAR Mag.
Coinciding with the shoot of “Never Stop Playing” was the qualifying round of the Red Bull Car Park Drift, an event that started in Lebanon in 2008 and as such is very close to Feghali’s heart. “I was so happy to introduce the competition to the country and meet all the drifters from SA, the talent was better than I had imagined. From the qualifying rounds, I could tell we would have a great event on our hands,” Feghali noted.
The Car Park Drift World Final takes place on the 29th of October in Egypt and Feghali is set to compete alongside Jim McFarlane who won the Red Bull Car Park Drift South Africa Qualifier in his Nissan 350Z.
