Is the, er, “standard” Mercedes-AMG GT R coupé not quite hot enough for you? Well, then you’ll be glad to hear Mercedes-Benz’s Affalterbach-based performance arm has confirmed it will unveil the new GT R Pro at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show.
Described as a “limited-edition special”, the new GT R Pro will be on display along an “updated” Mercedes-AMG GT model series. Interestingly, the latter includes “modifications to the exterior and interior that emphasise the close relationship to the 4-door AMG GT Coupé”.
So, what about the GT R Pro? Well, the automaker is keeping its cards exceedingly close to its chest for now, revealing only that it has been “modified in numerous details to deliver even more racetrack performance”.
This, the firm says, incorporated the “findings from our successful customer racing activities with AMG GT3 and AMG GT4 racing cars”.
