2022 is the year the Ferrari celebrates their 75th anniversary, and the first point of order to be dealt with is the unveiling of a special logo, as well as a video which features many of the iconic brand’s employees.
The logo has been created to commemorate the 75 years that have passed since a certain Mr Enzo Ferrari opened a small factory in Maranello in 1947. The logo features a prominent number 75 alongside the Cavallino Rampante (“prancing horse”) and 1947-2022 lettering.
A sculpture of the prancing horse was introduced by John Elkann, Ferrari Chairman, essentially a giant puzzle which has been created with the help of each and every Ferrari employee who placed each individual piece.
“For this special year we have created a special icon: a sculpture made up of thousands of components forged here in our factory and positioned one by one by my Ferrari colleagues. It is a symbol of the Ferrari spirit which is shared both here in Maranello and by all our family around the world. It reflects the essence of who we are, our past 75 years, and our future. It is a symbol of a company that, as Enzo Ferrari once said – Above all, is made of people,” said John Elkann, Ferrari Chairman.
Enzo himself said, “Factories are made of people, machines, and buildings. Ferrari, above all, is made of people,” a sentiment which is echoed in the official video.
Ferrari celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2017 and commemorated the occasion by launching 350 special editions of their then current models, the La Ferrari Aperta and numerous events all over the world. While its not clear if any special edition models will be included in anniversary plans for 2022, the Daytona SP# from the limited production Icona series should be an indication of what is to come in the coming twelve months from Maranello.
