Fiat has debuted the Fullback one-tonne bakkie at this year’s Dubai International Motor Show ahead of its launch here in 2016.
The Mitsubishi Triton-based Fiat Fullback will join the Italian firm’s Professional range during the third quarter of 2016 with a lineup comprising a 4×2 single-cab workhorse and a more lifestyle oriented double-cab with a choice of 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains.
The local engine lineup will comprise a 2,4-litre petrol unit developing 97 kW and a 2,5-litre turbodiesel in 100 kW and 131 kW states of tune, both of which will be coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Owing to its Triton template, the Fiat Fullback measures 1 780 mm high, up to 1 815 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 3 000 mm. The length varies depending on the configuration – 5,155 mm (Single Cab) and 5,285 mm (Double Cab). Also the length of the cargo compartment changes – 2,265 mm (Single Cab) and 1,520 mm (Double Cab). The payload capacity, according to the configuration, is up to 1 100 kg.
As part of the Professional model portfolio, the Fullback will be sold through selected Fiat dealerships countrywide.
Further details will emerge closer to the Fullback’s launch next year.
