Ford has announced that it will be expanding its Everest model range by introducing Wildtrak and XLT derivatives with both 4X2 and 4X4 model configurations.
The new Ford Everest model range is structured as follows:

- Everest Sport 2.0L BiT 4×2 10AT R 918 500
- Everest Sport 2.0L BiT 4×4 10AT R 984 800
- Everest Wildtrak 3.0L V6 4WD 10AT R 1 084 000
- Everest Platinum 3.0L V6 4WD 10AT R 1 146 500

Previously, the Everest range’s entry-level model was the Everest Sport which cost a shade under one million rand. Now the XLT’s 4X2 derivative serves as the model’s curtain-raiser. The XLT 4X2 and 4X4 models are powered by a 154 kW 2,0-litre Bi-Turbo diesel engine mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission, which is the same powertrain configuration found in the Sport variant. The 4X4 uses a part-time electronic shift-on-the-fly drive system.
Ford has characterised the XLT models by introducing a unique chrome-finished grille. Aside from slight aesthetic changes, the XLT models are outfitted with Ford’s modern infotainment array using its SYNC 4A system. The cabin offers features such as partial-leather seats and 12-inch touchscreen display.
The Sport model receives a new model using a 4X2 drivetrain system intended to broaden the appeal of the SUV’s middle-of-the-range offering. Visually the 4X2 is identical to its 4X4 counterpart. Characterising the exterior are a slew of exterior elements finished in black that range from the mirror caps to the front grilles and roof rails. The Sport models are supported by 20-inch alloy wheels.
The new Wildtrak variant slots in below the range-topping Platinum model and borrows elements like the permanent all-wheel-drive system and 184 kW 3,0-litre turbodiesel V6. Except for the powertrain, the Wildtrak’s other features are merely skin-deep. This variant of Ford’s SUV features a model-specific front bumper and grille design finished in Bolder Grey. The Wildtrak nameplate is displayed on the exterior and in the cabin. These models come standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, and customers can opt for 18-inch wheels paired with 255/65 R18 all-terrain tyres. The WIldtrak is offered in a model-exclusive Luxe Yellow.

The Everest is offered with a 4-year/ 120 000km warranty, a 4-year/ unlimited km Roadside Assistance and a 5-year/ unlimited distance corrosion warranty.
