Ford reveals ‘Black Appearance’ package for US-spec Ranger

Ford Motor Company in the United States has unveiled an updated version of its Black Appearance body kit for the Ranger Double-Cab pick-up.

According to the Michigan-based automaker, the majority of Ranger pick-ups sold in the US are specified with one of the firm’s customisation packages, which includes Sport, Chrome and now Black.

The latest kit is aimed at customers wanting an aggressively styled pick-up, Ford says, and features black finishes for many of the exterior items.

The most notable features are the black grille, 18-inch alloys, replete with centre caps in the same hue, and contrasting mirror caps. The running boards, fender vent surrounds and sill plates are also finished in black. The black dash plate, seen on the model featured here, comes with the additional FX4 off-road kit.

The Black Appearance Package is priced at $1,995 (excluding tax). By doing a quick Dollar-to-Rand conversion, that’s R28 835. Ford South Africa has yet to confirm whether this kit will be offered locally.
