Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa has discontinued all Ranger variants that combine the firm’s 3,2 TDCi engine with a six-speed manual gearbox.

As confirmed by Ford’s latest price bulletin (thanks to our friends over at duoporta.com for the tip), five derivatives have been trimmed from the local Ranger bakkie line-up.

The single-cab 3,2 TDCi XLS 4×2 manual, super-cab 3,2 TDCi XLS 4×2 manual, super-cab 3,2 TDCi XLS 4×4 manual, double-cab 3,2 TDCi XLT 4×2 manual and double-cab 3,2 TDCi XLT 4×4 manual have all been removed the range.

For the record, the five remaining 3,2 TDCi models featuring the Blue Oval brand’s six-speed automatic transmission still form part of the line-up.

As a reminder, the 3,2-litre, five-cylinder turbodiesel makes 147 kW at 3 000 r/min and 470 N.m at 1 500 r/min. Other engines offered in the all-diesel local Ranger line-up include a 2,2 TDCi unit, a single-turbo 2,0-litre mill and the range-topping bi-turbo 2,0-litre powerplant.
