BMW has posted a new shadowy teaser image to various social media channels … and the image appears to show a gran coupé version of its upcoming 8 Series.
The Munich-based automaker provided no additional information (other than the words: “Stay tuned. More to come in Geneva next week”) with its post, but a closer inspection of the teaser image reveals the vehicle in question features four rather than two doors.
Back in May 2017, BMW took the wraps off its Concept 8 Series before revealing fresh images and footage of a “close-to-series prototype” undergoing high-speed testing. And this 8 Series coupé is expected to be revealed in full production form later in 2018, with an M8 set to follow.
But the latest concept, which will be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show, is the strongest hint yet that the brand will eventually extend its production range to include an 8 Series Gran Coupé (and possibly also a M variant of this new four-door).
Expect power to come from the Bavarian automaker’s twin-turbo 4,4-litre V8…
