Petrol has become a sensitive topic in South Africa – the mere utterance of the topic is guaranteed to spark a twitch in the eye or flaring nostrils for motorists given the fuel hike we’ve been on.
However, in a twist of ‘fortune’, it seems like our hike may be haltering, and decreasing at that!
According to East Cape Fuels (an Engen distribution company), 93 and 95 Grade petrol will see a drop by 33 cents per litre and 35 cents per litre respectively.
These prices are currently sitting at R21.63 per litre for 93 and R21.96 for 95. While the difference may not be groundbreaking, it’s certainly a drive in the right direction.
As for diesel, the hike marches on with a 72 cents increase. Paraffin joins the party with a 66 cents increase.
