To celebrate the building of its 10 000th vehicle, Hennessey Performance has created this Heritage Edition Mustang, which features a Ford Racing-inspired livery and a number of performance enhancements (including, naturally, more power).
The Heritage Edition Mustang is fitted with a new front splitter, side-sills and rear spoiler (with a Gurney lip), all fashioned from carbon-fibre. A set of 20-inch alloy wheels completes the make-over.
The power output of the Mustang’s 5,0-litre V8 has been drastically increased from the standard 331 kW and 527 N.m of torque to a whopping 603 kW and 918 N.m of torque. This was achieved thanks to the fitment of a 3,0-litre supercharger and various other mechanical bits, including an air-to-water intercooler, upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump, and a high-flow air induction system.
With these changes, the Texas-based tuner says the special Mustang can achieve a 0-100 km/h time of just over 3,3 seconds and a top speed of more than 322 km/h.
To improve handling, the Heritage Edition Mustang has been given a lowered suspension and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tyres. Stopping power can be improved thanks to an optional set of Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes.
Not much changes inside this tuned Mustang. Here you’ll find a pair of Hennessey-branded headrests and a serial number plaque on the facia. A second plaque is sited on the engine.
The Hennessey Heritage Edition Mustang will be limited to just 19 units, each with a starting price of $89 950 (that’s about R1,2-million)…
