A fresh report out of Europe cites “industry sources” as saying the new BMW Z4 and revived Toyota Supra will be built by contract manufacturer Magna Steyr in Austria.
The Z4 (previewed by the BMW Concept Z4) and the Supra (previewed by the GR Supra Racing Concept) have been co-developed under a partnership between the German and Japanese brands that stretches back to 2013.
According to Automotive News Europe, the two sportscars will be built at Magna Steyr’s plant in Graz.
When approached for comment by the publication, Magna International said: “No announcement has been made by BMW or Toyota and we are therefore unable to comment”.
The Graz plant has built the Mercedes-Benz G-Class since 1979, and currently also produces the BMW 5 Series and Jaguar E-Pace. Production of the Jaguar I-Pace is expected to start at the factory later this year.
