The seven finalists for the 2017 edition of the European Car of the Year awards have been announced.
Some 58 jury members have whittled down the initial list to just seven contenders: the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Citroën C3, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Nissan Micra, Peugeot 3008, Toyota C-HR and Volvo S90/V90.
The overall winner will be revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show on March 6, after each juror has apportioned 25 points among at least five nominees.
In 2016, the Opel Astra took top honours, while 2015 belonged to the Volkswagen Passat, 2014 to the Peugeot 308 and 2013 to the Volkswagen Golf.
