The shortlist for the European Car of the Year 2022 award is decided. Out of the long list of 39 cars, the Jury has chosen seven nominees. All cars that have been listed are purely electric, which is a first for this longstanding automotive awards process.
The cars that were selected out of the candidates are the Cupra Born, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Peugeot 308, Renault Mégane E-Tech and Škoda Enyaq iV. A final voting round at the end of February will decide for the Car of the Year 2022. It will be announced online on Monday February 28th.
Interestingly, none of the cars shortlisted for the upcoming year are available in South Africa as yet.
