Volkswagen South Africa says it will display a variety of vehicles at the upcoming 2019 Festival of Motoring, including a range of cars “never before seen” on South African soil.

The Festival of Motoring takes place from 22 to 25 August 2019 at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

VW SA has confirmed it will display the soon-to-be-launched, V6-powered Amarok Canyon special edition as well as the fresh-faced T-Cross. The new Vivo Sound Edition and something the brand describes as a “locally inspired concept car” will also be shown.

Interestingly, the ID R Pikes Peak electric racing car will also make an appearance, while show-goers can furthermore take a spin in the Golf R, Touareg Black Style, Arteon, Tiguan Allspace and Polo Vivo GT on the track.

“Volkswagen will be creating the ultimate playground for motor enthusiasts at the fourth-annual Festival of Motoring with never-before-seen vehicles on South African soil,” said Andile Dlamini, head of group communications.

Furthermore, VW says it will offer show-goers the chance to sample the Amarok V6 on a “bespoke technical 4×4 obstacle course inspired by the International Spirit of Amarok”.

“Volkswagen will be out in full force at the Festival of Motoring this year and we look forward to Volkswagen customers and fans experiencing and enjoying what we have on offer,” said Dlamini.
