TVR has been dedicated to its comeback since the announcement last year. The manufacturer has just released a few teaser images to give fans and potential buyers a sneak peek into what they can expect in the new model which is rumoured to be called the Griffith.
The chassis will make use of Gordon Murray’s i-Stream design which incorporates lightweight carbon-fibre, allowing the model to weigh in at 1 150 kg. It will also make use of a naturally aspirated 298 kW Cosworth V8 engine which will be good for a 0-100 km/h time of roughly four seconds.
Production of the new TVR is set for next year at the manufacturer’s new factory in Wales. The first 500 units to be produced will be labelled as the Launch Edition and will be loaded with a few extras at an estimated R2,3-million price tag. Some 400 of these have already been pre-ordered. Run-of-the-mill models are estimated to cost around R1,4-million.
