Kia South Africa upgrades Picanto range to standard service plan…

Kia Motors South Africa has upgraded its Picanto range to a standard two-year/30 000 km service plan.

Previously, the city car was offered with an optional service plan of the same length. The five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty remains in place.

For the record, the Picanto’s standard service plan includes filters (oil, fuel and air), lubricants, engine oil, spark plugs, coolant, the sump plug gasket, brake and clutch fluid, transmission fluid, differential fluid and standard workshop consumables.

The local arm of the Korean brand points out there are “exclusions for certain wear and tear items”.

“With the new two-year/30 000 km service plan on all Kia Picanto models, customers not only know when to have their cars serviced, but also benefits from predictability of pricing over the plan’s duration,” said David Sieff, marketing director at Kia Motors South Africa.

“Servicing costs are set for the duration of the plan, meaning customers won’t have to pay anything extra for parts or labour should there be a price increase while the service plan is active, which is a notable value add.”
