Soon to be standard on all AMG models is the Affalterbach brand’s new “Emotion Start” technology, a start-up sequence that adds an extra growl to the exhaust note to accentuate the car’s presence.
According to Car and Driver, to activate this, you’ll have to pull back either paddle shifter before pressing the start button. This will open the exhaust valves and rev the engine to a slightly higher r/min. By doing this, you can remind your neighbours you are in possession of a true AMG.
Once started, the exhaust valves return to their default position.
