Mercedes-Benz C-Class wins top safety rating in US

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is tested by the IIHS.
The latest version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been around for a while now, but the folks over at the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) in the United States have only just crash-tested it.
The result? The German sedan earns the Top Safety Pick+ rating, despite returning a poor score in the headlight test (due to “excessive low-beam glare”).
The video shows that the vehicle’s structure stood up rather well to the punishing tests, with the IIHS reporting a “maximum intrusion” into the occupant compartment of just 10 cm.
The C-Class, of course, scored five stars in its Euro NCAP test back in 2014.
