Now that Naamsa has released its publicly available industry report for November 2020, we can take a look at the 10 best-selling automotive brands for the month.

As a reminder, the report now includes only brand aggregate sales and export numbers, and no individual model sales figures (though we’ve managed to source the latter for our list of SA’s best-selling bakkies).

For the record, Naamsa said new-vehicle sales in November showed a 12,0 percent drop compared with the same month in 2019, ending up on 39 315 units. Export sales, meanwhile, registered a year-on-year decline of 7,6 percent at 31 966 units.

In November 2020, Toyota again topped the table with 9 441 units registered locally (plus 5 934 exports), while the Volkswagen Group (including the Audi brand) was next in line with 6 950 units, along with the month's top export figure of 8 233.

Ford (3 895) was again in third place (and exported some 7 076 units), while Nissan (2 744) grabbed fourth and Hyundai (2 609) fifth. Suzuki registered a strong sixth place, while Isuzu climbed to seventh. Mercedes-Benz was eighth, with Renault finishing ninth and Kia closing out the table in tenth spot.
