Super-SUV milestone! Lamborghini Urus production hits 10 000 units…

Lamborghini says the 10 000th example of its Urus has rolled off the production line a little over two years after the 478 kW super-SUV hit initial markets.

The milestone vehicle is destined for Russia and is finished in a new Nero Noctis Matte black hue. Chassis number 10 000 also features the Italian firm’s carbon-fibre package and two-tone Ad Personam interior in black and orange.

Of course, the Urus has been the main driver of Lamborghini sales since its market launch. In fact, in 2019, some 4 962 units were delivered to customers worldwide, accounting for more than 60 percent of the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based firm’s total sales.

As a reminder, the Urus is powered by the Volkswagen Group’s twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 petrol engine, delivering 478 kW and 850 N.m to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Currently priced from R3 995 000 in South Africa, the Urus will hit 100 km/h from standstill in a claimed 3,6 seconds before topping out at 305 km/h.
