To be unveiled in Q4 2016, this is what the facelifted Golf 7 and its GTI derivative could look like.
RM Design has rendered the mid-cycle facelift that’s expected to introduce minor exterior design tweaks most obvious of which are new the bumpers and lighting cluster graphics. Likely too are new alloy wheel designs and body colour options.
Inside, the changes are reportedly more noticeable and its very likely it will include gesture control technology that we will see debuted in the new BMW 7 Series (launch set for Q4 2016). The tech will be identical to the one found in the Golf R Touch concept that VW showcased at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas at the beginning of the year. The tech involves interior cameras linked to control computers that can interpret hand gestures to control certain of the vehicle’s functions.
The facelifted Golf 7’s interior will also likely include a fully digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen display for the infotainment system, along with a smaller display located below for controlling the climate and other functions.
